My 20 Year Plan
I will be going to college after I am finished with high school and graduated from ACLC. I will be going to a 4-year college, most likely a University of California (haven’t decided schools yet). I will be studying kinesiology or human biology to then perhaps going back to school for another 4 years for graduate school in which I will study sports medicine. I will have a job during my college career to help with expenses, earn more work experience, and hopefully help with on-campus housing depending on how far away I move from my home in Alameda, California.
Depending on the amount of federal help I acquire I might go to a Junior College in the peralta community college programs so I can work to build more of a foundation for when I transfer to a UC to earn my BS. This will happen if the amount of money seems to be more overwhelming that I could handle after I graduate from college. I plan not to be covered in loans but I realize I cannot completely avoid this. I will also be helping my family in repairing the boat we own to get it in a condition in which we could sell it which will free up a large amount of money towards my sisters and my education.
I plan to step up my work with meaningful internships related to my field of study to help me gain specific work experience to transition into my newly specific field work and study. I am not entirely certain of where my efforts will lie when going into college but I will manage to find something I am good at and enjoy doing for a living. I will eventually go to graduate school after aquiring my degree and I would like to study Sports Medicine, preferably at UC San Francisco.
I plan to have a small home, only having what I would need. I will live a simple life for a while to help pay off my mass amount of loans (if applicable) but I will most likely end up paying for it my entire life if not most of it. I plan to get back into playing an instrument in my free time because I was always interested in music but never had the money or time to fulfill this personal goal.
